About us

So do you need a little help getting out on the water?  Penguin Trip Come join Delmarva Paddlers or one of our other local paddling groups and have a little fun.

July 11th Nanticoke RiverFest Canoe and Kayak Challenge

If you haven't done this event you've got to try it. This and the Broadkill
are done along with a Festival (I'm already tasting those yummy sausage
sandwiches. Ummmmm) so it's great fun for the whole family. Seaford has a
host of classes (Alycia and her Dad are finalizing them) so there's a lot of
hardware given out which is fun too. This is shallow river, up and back,
and a perfect place for beginners to mix it up with others. No better way to
see a good forward stroke than to watch paddlers like Steve, Cyndi, Susan,
and others paddle away from you and then come towards you. Susan got her
start right here. I think that's an endorsement or maybe a caution ;-)

New:  This site was launched June 1st.  We like what they are trying to do.  ed.

DelmarvaDrives.com has a goal of being the clearing house for all things Delmarva. With listings for a wide range of activities -- from geocaching to kayaking to touring wineries; biking, the arts, and traveling with your dog. An updated calendar of events, tourism news, and features are all part of the site. An interactive work in progress, DelmarvaDrives.com wants visitors to participate in creating a Delmarva-centric on-line community.

We did the James Branch again on June 6th.  A little more eventful this time pics and trip reports are up on Delmarva Paddler's message board.  You must be a member (so why not join) to view them.

And at Patti's Photos Anne's, Steve's, thanks to all.

May 16 James Branch, see Patti's photos, Chris' photos and also check Tom's on the Delmarva Paddler's message board.

Patti has been down the branch 3 times this year with 3 sets of photos.  It is interesting to compare the water levels on all three trips.

We've tried to keep the site simple so that it still loads relatively quickly on dial up accounts, a fact of life here on the Delmarvalous Peninsula.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with our brave troops, their families, and for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Be sure to thank our Armed Forces men and women for their service to our country whenever and where ever you have a chance.
